From the only outdoor messy play for young children in the area, to advice and support for parents, our fully trained families team at GL11 have a range of activities for children and families throughout the week.

  • Parenting Possible. Helping parents empower each other by a peer to peer support group. Unpick the challenging and sometimes downright impossible missions that parents face daily. When: Monday, weekly 1pm - 2:30pm. Starts: 18 March 2024.

    Parenting Possible

    GL11’s new peer-to-peer support group. Parents spend at least 63,960 hours of their lives worrying about their children! From behaviour and eating, to school and social media. Our free Parenting Possible group brings parents together to discuss, share solutions, and offer support.

    With free crèche available (up to the age of 8), refreshments, and disabled access.

    This is a term-time only group, starting on Monday 18th March, taking a two week break for the Easter holidays, then weekly from Monday 8th April.

    Peep Learning Together

    Over four sessions, find out how you can make the most of learning opportunities for your child in everyday life!

    Following the recognised Peep Learning Together Programme, we'll help you to gain the skills and knowledge you need to teach your child through play.

    Tuesdays from 23 April to 14 May.

    10:00 - 11:00am.

    Healthy Start Training (HENRY) with Crèche in Berkeley

    Our next free HENRY ‘healthy start’ course for parents is being held in Berkeley Town Hall in April.

    Starting on Thursday 25th April, 10am - 11.30am for 8 weeks (term-time), with free childcare provided while you learn.

    What happens in childhood has lifelong effects on our health and wellbeing. HENRY supports families to provide the best possible start in life for babies and children.

    This parent-friendly course covers a wide range of skills across nutrition, emotional well-being, parenting skills, breastfeeding and getting more active.

  • Paediatric First Aid Training. Wednesday 15th May 2024. 1pm to 3pm at GL11 Community Hub, Fairmead, Cam, GL11 5JS. £20 per person, £10 deposit required to secure a place. Subsidised spaces available for those in receipt of specific benefits.

    Please note that due to lack of space, we CANNOT accept these bulky items: cots, prams, pushchairs, highchairs, moses baskets, car seats or large toys, e.g. play kitchens, garages etc. Thank you.

    This friendly drop in group for under 5s is held in Sharpness Village Hall every Wednesday.

    Includes a snack, a drink, and a monthly Health Visitor session.

    Free Creche Sessions at GL11

    We currently have free creche sessions at GL11 on Monday (1pm to 2.45pm) and Wednesday (12.30pm to 2.30pm) afternoons, for 0-4 years.

    If you are a parent with baby or toddler, needing our Wednesday expert advice on your finances, housing concerns, etc. Or just need to visit our Community Pantry to do a low-cost weekly shop. Why not take advantage of our free creche to get the support you need while children are safely at play with our fully trained families team, Kath, Kim and Lindsay.

    On Mondays, you can find out more about all of GL11’s activities, and just take some time out for yourself in our Cafe with a hot drink and some cake.

    We also occasionally run one-off creche sessions to help parents participate in activities at GL11. Check out our Activities & Courses section for any specific details.

    There is a limit to creche numbers on any one day, so best to ring GL11 first on 01453 548530 just to double check on availability.

    Drop in to our Family Fridays at GL11 to join other families with children under 5 for playful activities and a delicious, freshly cooked lunch.

    Includes a monthly Health Visitor session and our Community Pantry is also open 10am - 12noon every week.

    We have a monthly Health Visitor session at both our weekly Family Friday sessions at GL11, and at our weekly Sharpness Parent & Toddler group in Sharpness Village Hall.

    No need to book. If you need to see a Health Visitor, just drop in and see us on one of these dates.
