Practical Support for You

GL11 is a Stroud District Foodbank centre. Our foodbank can provide an emergency food parcel containing at least three days of meals, and is open to anyone who needs it on Wednesdays from 2 - 3pm.

The foodbank is available through a voucher referral system. We can refer you during our normal opening hours, either in person or by phoning 01453 548530. If GL11 is closed please contact P3 on 01453 750480 or Help through Hardship on 0808 208 2138. Once the referral is made, you may be directed to another local foodbank centre if you would receive your emergency food parcel quicker that way (or, in some cases, a delivery may be made).

Please note that you will need to provide ID when collecting your foodbank parcel.

Our Community Pantry is open to anyone who needs a helping hand to buy food. You pay £4 per visit to get around £15-20 worth of shopping from our pantry.

The Community Pantry is open Wednesdays, 10am-1pm & 3:30-4.30pm, and on Fridays, 10am-12pm. Pantry slots need to be pre-booked on the day.

You can drop into GL11 every Wednesday from 9am to 5pm for free Cost of Living help and advice.

Our Community Café serves hot food from 10am to 4:30pm for just £1, and our Community Pantry is open too.

You can get free help with money, debt and benefits advice, housing advice, Careers Cafe and digital help (with free wi-fi available!).

Plus there is always nice chat and good company.

Care & Repair is a trusted handy person service for residents over 65, or any adult living with a disability, run by GL11. Our aim is to provide the help you need, to get small jobs done in your home and garden, to help you maintain your independence for longer.

The type of things we can help you with are general DIY, such as replacing a light bulb, installing a safety rail, furniture moves, fitting a key safe or letterbox cage, etc.

All it takes is a phone call to us on 01453 548530, followed by a home visit, to assess what help is needed. The home assessment is free and there is no obligation. Our team are all DBS checked.

Problems with your hearing aid? Need to see an expert? Hearing Aid Clinics are held at GL11 throughout the year.

GL11 hosts a chiropody service for over 55s every Thursday, with appointments available between 9:15am and 2:00pm. Regular GL11 attendees pay £7.50 for a session, for those only using the chiropody service the charge is £30 per session.

We have a monthly Health Visitor session as part of Family Friday at GL11.

No need to book. If you need to see a Health Visitor, just drop in and see us on one of these dates.

Bring your faulty electronic items to be logged, assessed and (hopefully) fixed at our monthly Repair Cafe.
