You’ll find something different happening every day at GL11 Community Hub, from one-off courses to weekly groups. For more information about any of these activities, please give us a call!

    DiversiTea - GL11's Neurodiverse Cafe at Dursley Methodists

    Join us for GL11's pop-up cafe in Dursley Methodist Church, 10am - 2pm, every fortnight.

    Accessible, affordable and inclusive. Everyone is welcome.

    Run by GL11 Explorers group as a friendly, safe place to meet for song, laughter and fun, with tea, cake, and activities!

    DiversiTea & Cake usually runs first & third Monday each month.

    Specific Monday dates to the end of July 2024 are:

    April 15th & 29th, May 20th, June 3rd & 17th, July 1st and 15th.

    Bringing people from Sharpness together for delicious cake on the second Monday of every month. Everyone welcome.

    Would you like to exercise both your body and mind? Want to fill the evening with positive vibes? We’ve got it covered! Come and try our evening YOGA class!

    Learn alongside Miranda, who’ll show you how to combine slow, mindful movement, with breathing practice and invigorating poses and achieve the feelings of calm and relaxation you are looking for.

    Next course starts: Thursday 2nd May, 5.15pm-6.15pm.

    Upcycling Workshop

    Bring along a small, portable item of furniture and learn to prepare, paint and finish using various techniques in this new two-week course at GL11 Community Hub.

  • Clay Art. From Wednesday 5th June for 7 weeks.

    Clay Art

    This course, brought to you in partnership with WEA, will introduce you to different styles of pottery hand building techniques, and also give you a chance to explore and be creative in your own time and space.

    Across the 7 sessions you will learn different hand building and molding techniques using real potters clay. By the end of the course you will have created a decorative hand-built clay piece using colourful glazes. The pieces you make will be fired in a kiln offsite.

    The course fee is £58.80 but is FREE for eligible learners on certain Government benefits or low incomes.

    From Wednesday 5th June, weekly for 7 weeks. 2pm-4pm.

  • Charcoal & Pastels. 14th, 21st & 28th August 2024.

    Charcoal & Pastels

    Come and join us to learn how to use pastels and charcoal to create your own masterpiece. On this course, brought to you in partnership with WEA, you will have the opportunity to extend your knowledge and understanding of different drawing techniques and learn practical and technical skills.

    With supportive guidance and demos from your tutor, you will also be inspired by stimulating resources from other artists’ work, handouts and pictures to guide and keep you focused throughout the course.

    The course fee is £25.20 but is FREE for eligible learners on certain Government benefits or low incomes.

    Community Buddies

    Grow in confidence, meet new people in the area and get out and about with GL11 Community Buddies. Buddying is a one-to-one friendship between a volunteer and a person who might want a friend. This can be a chat over a cup of tea, a weekly phone call, a walk in the park or whatever else suits you both. We carefully match individuals based on area and mutual interests to create genuine, long-lasting friendships.

    GL11 Community Cafe

    Our Community Cafe is open for home cooked food Monday to Friday. Sharon and her team of volunteers serve up hot drinks, cakes and lunches.

    As part of our weekly Warm Wednesdays, the cafe serves £1 hot food all day between 10am and 4.30pm.

    On Thursdays, pre-booking is required for our £5 two course community lunch for the over 55’s. Call us on 01453 548530 to book yourself a space at our community lunch table.
