Community comes together to celebrate Indigo Redfern MBE

Members of the Cam and Dursley community, together with representatives from the NHS, local councils, and charity organisations around Gloucestershire, joined together at GL11 Community Hub last week to mark the departure of Indigo Redfern MBE.

Indigo, who announced her resignation earlier this year, is leaving GL11 Community Hub after eleven years at the helm. During her time at GL11 she has overseen significant change, including the long-term response to COVID-19 and a move to greater partnership working with organisations including the NHS. The charity has also worked alongside thousands of people in the local community facing poor health and the impact of the ongoing cost of living crunch through services such as counselling, money advice, and employment support.

Speeches were made by Doina Cornell, Chair of Trustees at GL11 Community Hub, Matt Lennard, CEO at Gloucestershire VCSE Alliance, Gemma Artz from NHS Gloucestershire, Lisa Wilson, Interim CEO at GL11 Community Hub, Kath Redmond, Families and Young People Manager at GL11 Community Hub, and Indigo herself. Gifts presented included an illustration of GL11’s journey over the past eleven years, a scrapbook of memories, and a garden sculpture made by Martin Livall of 3bees Scrap Art.

We have had a significant impact together. Thank you everyone. Thank you to the staff, the trustees, the volunteers, all our partners in the NHS, across the statutory sector, and the voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations. I’ll miss everyone.
