Money Advice

GL11 is able to provide help, support and advice around money, debt, budgeting and benefits with access to specialist advisors. We are here to offer any help and support we can without judgement.

Digital Project

Become more condent with technology and getting online with our support and training sessions. We are able to offer one-to-one advice and training for all your digital needs, be it help getting online, using video calling software to stay in touch with family and friends, or all the other useful things you can do online.

These meetings can be done on the phone, or in person with one of our digital volunteers.

For residents of the GL11 community, please get in touch for more information and to request a call back from one of our volunteers.

Mondays

 Walking Group: 10-12 noon, Free

Grab your boots and join us on guided walks in the local area. Open to all, but spaces are limited, booking required.

 Seated Yoga: 10.30-11.30am, TT, Free

 Invisible Illness Group: 1-2pm / 2-3pm, TT, Free

Oering support and activities to anyone living with an illness that is not visible. Meeting in the GL11 garden, please get in touch to book a place.

 Men’s Shed: 1-3pm, Free

Knock about in our shed and see what you can build and achieve. Spaces available.

Mindful Movement in the Garden, 10am-12noon, Free

Learn basic stretches, compassion and kindness to reconnect with the body and help improve your mental and physical wellbeing. 4 week course. Limited to 6 places, booking required. (14th June-5th July)


Tuesdays

 Shine Programme: 12- 2pm, TT, Free

Creative therapy, peer support and weekly sessions for mothers dealing with depression and anxiety. Offering a nurturing environment, relaxing activities and the chance to meet other mums. Meeting in the GL11 garden. Unfortunately were are unable to offer a creche at the moment.

 The Explorers: 10am-12noon/2-4pm, TT, Free

Have fun, make friends and develop new skills with dierent things to do every week. (Starts 4th May).

The Hub Cafe: 10am-3pm

Reopening in partnership with Severn Vale Community Kitchen. New menus, outdoor seating only until restrictions are eased. (Starts 11th May).

Ukulele Group, 10am-12noon, £3

Learn the ukulele whilst having fun and making friends. (Starts 1st June).

Food Bank 3.30 – 5.30pm

 Long Covid Support Group: 1-2pm, Free

A peer support and advocacy group for people living with Long Covid. A friendly, welcoming space where we help each other through the bad days and rejoice in the good.

Stroke Group, 2.15-3.30pm, Fortnightly, Free

Meet other people who have had a stroke, share your experiences and make new friends. For more info contact: Helen@cscic.org/07742653819 (Starts 18th May).

 Adventure Play Time: 3.45-5.45pm, TT,  £18 for 6 sessions Outdoor adventure

Outdoor adventure activities for 6-10 year olds. Free play, den building, outdoor skills, arts and crafts, active and fun. Limited to 10 places so please get in touch to book a space. (Starts 4th May).


Wednesdays

 Let’s Dance: 1.30-2.30/2,30-3,30pm, £2

Come and learn some dance moves! A dierent style is covered each week, including Disco, Salsa, Jive, Cha Cha and Rumba. For those over 55yrs, sessions run outside in our courtyard, weather permitting. Places are limited, please call to book a space on 01453 548530 or email kathredmond@gl11.org.uk These sessions are free, but an optional donation of £2 would be appreciated.

An inclusive and supportive space for mums to get together, build relationships and enable a caring environment. (Starts 19th May).

Thursdays

Nail Art: 10am-12noon, Free

• A six-week course.

• Fun and interactive lessons.

• No prior learning required.

• On completion of the course learners will receive a nationally recognised qualication.

• Learn a new nail art technique each week.

This course if free for adults (19+) living in Gloucestershire that are in receipt of benets. If you are working less than 16 hours whilst receiving benets, you are still eligible. Sorry, no creche available currently. (6 week course, starts 6th May).

Feet, Food & Friendship, 10am-2pm, £5

A small and informal group for the over 50s to enhance wellbeing and develop friendships and includes a hot meal. Limited spaces and booking is required.

 Peep Group 10.30-11.30am, £1

Peep sessions share simple ways of supporting your child’s learning and development in everyday life. Come along – you and your child can make friends, share ideas and have fun through stories and activities. This group is designed for parents/carers of young babies that are not on the move yet. (4 week course, starts 17th June).

 Makaton 1-2pm, Free

Makaton is a unique language programme that uses symbols, signs and speech to enable people to communicate. Using signs can help adults and children who have no speech, or whose speech is unclear. Join our Family Team for a basic introduction to one word symbols and signs that children will use daily. 10 places available, sorry we can’t accommodate children for this session and can’t currently offer a creche. (3 week course, starts 17th June).

Art & Chat

Relaxing and fullling arts and crafts to soothe the soul. Meet in the GL11 Garden marquee with social distancing measures in place. Please get in touch to register your interest. (Starts 29th April).

Independence Trust, Community Wellbeing Service, 12-2pm, Free

A drop in session offering support and connections to others to help your health and wellbeing. Call for info/to book: 01453 755711 or 07817 866354 (Starts 24th June).

Hearing Aid Clinic, 1st Thurs of month, 1.30-4.30pm, Free

Free hearing aid cleaning and re-tubing provided by Gloucester Deaf Association. Booking essential: 01452 372999 (Starts 1st July) *No clinic on 5th August as the Hub is closed*

 Seated Yoga: 3-4pm, TT, Free

These classes are done seated on chairs and are designed for people who may find traditional yoga classes unsuitable due to impaired mobility, or for those who simply enjoy a gentle, meditative class. You will be encouraged to take the movements and intensity at your own pace, adapting where needed. Open to all, meet online via Zoom.  Mindfulness Meditation 4.30-5.30pm, TT, Free

Learn simple relaxation techniques to manage anxiety in everyday life. This course is designed to help relieve stress and anxiety. You will be guided through meditation with a focus on the sensations of breathing and mentally scanning your body to bring awareness to each area. Open to all, meet online via Zoom. Fridays

 Family Fridays: 10am-12noon / 12.30-2pm, TT, Free

GL11 welcomes you and your family to have the run of the GL11 garden with drop-in sessions for families with children under five.

Our What’s Up Clinic will also be back once a month, starting 11th June, where you can drop in to weigh your baby or get advice from a health visitor. (Starts 21st May).

 HENRY Programme To Be Conrmed, TT, Free

Support for families to provide a healthy, happy start for their children. Why not join our HENRY taster sessions and share experiences with other parents in an informal atmosphere. The sessions will help with ideas and tools to try at home covering: routines & boundaries, guidance and praise, reward systems, food portions and lots more. These sessions will be in the GL11 garden in a safe and socially-distanced way. Please contact us for more info.
