What’s On at GL11

Things have changed a lot since our last What’s On Guide! Many of the activities that used to run here are now returning, some online and others in small, carefully managed groups. We are constantly assessing and updating our safety measures and risk assessments, so if you visit you will be asked to:

• Use our hand sanitiser before entering and leaving

• Complete our track and trace forms

• Have your temperature taken on arrival

• Wear a mask inside our building

• Follow one way systems and stay to designated areas

• Follow social distancing requirements

• Not visit GL11 if you are feeling unwell

We are still here for you with practical and emotional support, information, friendship and kindness, both inside our building, at other venues, online and across our community. Our support network is in place for any further lockdown restrictions and we are getting our sessions up and running again. Fridays at GL11

Kath shows us around GL11 during a typical Friday morning – our fantastic volunteers pack and deliver food items to those in need across Cam & Dursley.

Chris Sandys reflects on his two weeks in and around Cam & Dursley

“I’m super-encouraged by the rich community I experienced, the warm welcome I received and the wonderful people I met.”

Following two brilliant weeks at the GL11 Community Hub, I’m now back at BBC Glos HQ and missing you all.

Thank you SO much to the many people who recommended people and places, gave up time to meet me, shared their stories and added a lot of life to our radio airwaves.

Sadly there were dozens of people and places I wasn’t able to get round in the time I had, for which I’m sorry; I could literally only scratch the surface of the area in the two weeks I had.

Finally, if you’d like to take an interest in the lives of some of the people who bring life to Cam and Dursley, you’ll find a growing collection of audio interviews here – please do check ’em out:

Thanks again, and please be encouraged – you live in a brilliant part of Gloucestershire 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
