Parents and children have been busy during the spring and summer months designing and making sculptures based on nursery rhymes. “The Three Bags Full” sculptures were created with the support and guidance of tutors Amanda Griffiths and Helen Williams. The
wooden sculptures were made at the GL11 Community Project – the host
organisation – and this whole learning exercise was made possible through
funding from Gloucestershire County Council’s Adult Education department’s
Family Literacy Language and Numeracy programme. |

The
sculptures now form part of a newly launched Sculpture Trail at Twinberrow
Woods in Dursley. The creation of this trail has been co-ordinated by Vale
Vision (www.valevision.org.uk)
and includes artwork from a number of local community groups and organisations.
We are delighted that the work of our local families features in this innovative
trail and is available free for local communities and visitors to Dursley
to enjoy.
