Ann
Wheeler- Manager
Ann joined GL11 from Matson Neighbourhood Project. Her wealth and experience
of community working has been gained over 25 years of involvement in the Voluntary
and Community sector. Ann manages the Project overall and continues to build
on its success over the last 5 years. She also has responsibility for managing
the Reaching Communities programme within the Learning Community arm of GL11.
Jane
McKerron- Activities Co-ordinator/Development Worker
Jane has been with GL11 from its creation in 2002. An instrumental member
of the original Committee Jane has become an invaluable asset to the GL11
team. Jane is responsible for creating and co-ordinating the many community
groups currently running at the Project. She works closely with all users
of the Project to establish interests and how we can improve what GL11 offers
by developing ideas in to projects or courses.
Caron
Whitlock – Youth Support Worker
Caron has been a student and an active volunteer at GL11 for several years.
She is now a member of our staff team and her role is as a support worker
for our weekly drop-in group for children and young people, called Bedlam.
She works with Jane and together they create a relaxed, safe and informal
environment where young people can get together to socialise and build new
friendships.
Mandy
Bailey- Co-ordinator/Administrator
Mandy is a crucial member of the GL11 team. Co-ordinating all aspects of the
everyday running of the Project, Mandy is usually the first point of contact
when people step through the door and is now also one of our valued tutors!
Firmly established as an integral part of GL11, Mandy has proved to be indispensable.
Viv
Jones- Projects Co-ordinator (TLC, Reaching Communities programme)
Viv joined the GL11 team 3 years ago working with The Learning Community arm
of GL11. With the Reaching Communities programme moving in to its 2nd year,
she is primarily responsible for developing projects with local health professionals
and supporting the ongoing consultation with learners, employers and training
providers. Viv works on a part-time basis on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Jacky
Tolfree- Co-ordinator of Volunteers
Jacky is one of the newest members of our team. Jacky has been involved in
community work through youth drama workshops and has a background in careers
advice. Her key role is supporting and developing our ever increasing team
of loyal volunteers keeping eyes and ears open for volunteering opportunities
and new recruits. She is usually contactable at GL11 on Wednesdays.
Zac
McKerron- Bike Shed Support Worker
The newest addition to the team, Zac was appointed as support worker for the
hugely successful Bike Shed project in March 09. Having been part of the original
team of motivated Bike Shed’ers, Zac has progressed through the project
and we are so pleased that he accepted this new position with a view to re-launching
the Bike Shed over the coming months. He can always be found tinkering in
the ‘Shed’ on a Wednesday 4-6pm and various other times throughout
the week.
Jamie
Vizor – Clerk/Community Consultation Worker
Jamie joined us in February 2010 through the government’s Future Jobs
Scheme, and has quickly settled in and become a valuable member of our staff
team. He works ‘front of house’ and welcomes students, volunteers
and visitors to GL11, and is being kept very busy on a number of initiatives,
including the UK Online Centre project.
Gemma
Gourley- Crèche Manager
Gemma heads our team of highly qualified childcare workers. She joined GL11
three years ago and has been an asset to the Project bringing new ideas and
ways of engaging children and parents alike.
Helen
Jenkins- Crèche Worker
Helen has been with GL11 from its beginnings. She joined us as a parent helper
and is now an essential member of our crèche team.
Amanda
Western- Crèche Worker
Amanda has been with GL11 since the year dot! She is now a valuable member
of our crèche team.
