We work closely with several local education providers to offer you the best courses, on your doorstep at an affordable price. South Gloucestershire and Stroud College (SGS College) enable us to run essential courses such as maths, literacy and computer skills as well as many of our wellbeing sessions. However, for those of us who desire more hands on learning opportunities we have sessions that include woodwork in The Men’s Shed, Gardening Club and more coming soon.

English & Maths

Core maths and english skills can be gained in these informal sessions with our experienced tutor Lesley, from South Gloucestershire and Stroud College. Develop reading and writing through topics that interest you and brush up your maths whilst working at your own pace. These courses may help you gain a nationally recognised qualification and are flexible meaning you can join at any point throughout the year.

These courses are FREE and delivered by South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.

Tuesdays, 10.00am – 12.00pm, 12.30 – 2.30pm and 6.00 – 8.00pm – These sessions run term-time only.

Starts 17th September.

Computers for Beginners & Improvers

If you feel you have been left behind in a digital world and would like help then try one of these IT courses. Chris, our IT tutor from South Gloucestershire and Stroud College is patient and supportive. You will be taught in a relaxed environment and at your pace.

Computers for beginners will help you master the basics! Learn how to turn your computer on (a very useful first step!!), navigate a home page and use an internet search engine.

Thursday, 9.30 – 11.30am. Term time only. 

10 week courses start 3rd October, 23rd January & 23rd April.

£1 optional donation requested by GL11 to help sustain the Hub.

If you have conquered the basics and feel ready to learn more, such as Skyping relatives, placing an internet shopping order or typing a letter, then Computers for Improvers is the course for you.

Thursdays, 11.30am – 1.30pm. Term time only.

Money & Me

Learn new skills while having fun – banking, shopping and budgeting. Designed for adults with learning disabilities.

Tuesdays, 10am – 3pm, £2

ESOL English

These classes will help you learn and gain more confidence in your own abilities, they are lively and are a good opportunity to meet learners from other countries. You will have a chance to gain an Edexcel ESOL qualification at a level that is right for you. These sessions are tailored to most levels of ability.

FREE for those from the EU or who have been resident in the UK for 3 years – £1 optional donation per session requested by GL11 to help sustain the Hub. £150 contribution for others on production of a valid visa.

Tuesday, 12.00pm – 2.00pm term-time only.

18 week courses start 8th October & 25th February.

This course are delivered by South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.
